Description
I like the non-showy flowers. These flowers have a different superpower: not appearance, but amazing fragrance! I hope you can imagine the aroma in my studio when I am painting these flowers, it’s fantastic. I don’t mind painting them at all!
I like how the sturdy, small flowers are balanced by the repetitious pattern of the fairly uniform leaves, in so far as any plant is uniform. This Daphne bush is in a shady corner of my garden, but at this time of year, you can’t miss it: the fragrance billows out from it, especially in the evening.
Drawn with silverpoint and painted in acrylic inks, on a reinforced mdf panel, this piece is 40.5 x 51 cm, and about 1cm deep with a white-painted edge. Ready to hang.
