I love to walk in the mornings. It’s a special time of day. I particularly like to walk from Red Rocks to Cowes beach (good for coffee) on Phillip Island. On this morning the sky was overcast, and the wind fresh. Without the dazzle of sun I could see deeply into the clear water. The lapping waves were mesmerising, and calming.
I like to capture non-typical scenes, and I’m really pleased with how this one turned out, really capturing what I was seeing: the repetitive movement, and the depth, with the deeply contrasting colours. It’s painted in watercolour and ink and gouache on linen, and protected with a matt varnish, the image is 25.3 x 30.6cm. The natural Tassie Oak frame is 37.8 x 43.3cm, x 2cm deep. Ready to hang.
