I love to walk in the mornings. It’s a special time of day. I particularly like to walk from Red Rocks to Cowes beach (good for coffee) on Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. On this morning the sky was overcast, and the wind fresh. Without the dazzle of sun I could see deeply into the clear water. The lapping waves were mesmerising, and calming.
This painting was popular the first time I painted it, and I liked it so much that I painted it again – twice! These sister paintings are now available, framed in natural Australian Ash, and ready to hang. This version is the smaller of the two new ones.
It’s painted in watercolour and ink and gouache on linen, and protected with an invisible matt varnish, the image is 20 x 25.5 cm. The frame is 32.2 x 37.5 cm, x 2cm deep.
