Isn’t it wonderful in Spring when everything starts to grow, and so many new plants are young, and like these Peas, they are reaching for the sky, growing everyday?  Does it make you think of children or childhood?  I love this time of the year. This year I had new “wicking beds” to grow my veggies in, and it gave me much delight to go and see the rapid progress of the pea plants – and nibble a few!

The plant is drawn with silverpoint and coloured with permanent acrylic inks in a watercolour style, and the background is artists’ acrylic paint. This is painted on a sturdy, reinforced wooden board, dimensions: 20 cm square. Standing out about 1cm from the wall, the wood edge is painted a fresh white, and this piece is ready to hang.  Orange Peasprout Acrylic paint and ink on board side view
