Description
This gull and cormorant sit guard on the impressive-coloured old weathered posts which used to hold up a jetty, at Cowes boat ramp, Phillip Island. Fishermen use the new jetty nearby & the birds keep watch for the inevitable tasty waste from their catches. I often see the gull on my morning walks, but he/she doesn’t always have a friend. On this misty morning, the pair stood out in sharp focus.
Painted in ink and watercolour on a prepared natural wooden board (so that the wood-grain intentionally contributes to the image), it is 35.5 x 28cm, and 2cm deep. It is protected with clear, matt, archival varnish, reinforced on the back, and ready to hang.
